Chemin de Fer de LA MURE
Chemin de Fer de la Mure A historic French MG electric line Built in 1888, the CF de la Mure hauled coal through
spectacular scenery in the foothills of the French Alps. It was the pioneer high-tension DC electrification in
France.
Electrified at 2400V DC in 1903-12, it used a 2-wire sytem with return via the rails. It closed in 1987, and began
